December Auction Highlights

M&M Auction’s December specialist toy, games and model sale delivered a host of exceptional prices for one lucky vendor in particular.  The small collection of pre-war toys was stumbled across in a lucrative attic clear out. Inherited from a family relative over 35 years ago, they were left untouched until now and given to M&M Auctions to sell in our December event. The toys included a duo of Dinky No. 22A Pre-War Open Sports Cars, one in red, the other in white and a No.22b Pre-War Closed Sports Coupe in green and yellow. The real stars of the show however came in the form of two Dinky 28 series pre-war delivery vans. A No. 28H Sharp’s Toffee issue realized £2000 at the fall of the hammer and a beautifully original and well-preserved No.28E Ensign / Lukos films van realized £4600 with brisk bidding in the room and from an international internet bidder. The result was a fine early Christmas present for the lucky consignee! The auction comprised of over 800 lots of other specialist toys, games and models including tractors, trucks, cars, planes, trains and other collectable items from the past 100 years. Other highlights included an array of finely preserved early post-war dinky’s including a No. 36a Armstrong Siddeley with maroon/dark red body, black detailed chassis and ridged hubs realizing £220 and a Dinky No. 430 Comma Breakdown Lorry Dinky Service with red cab and chassis, grey back and jib, blue plastic hubs realizing £420. The next sale is scheduled to take place at M&M’s Plover court premises in early February 2019 to which entries are now being invited.
